Our Commitment to Accessibility

The Friedman for City Council campaign is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We strive to continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to achieve this goal.

We believe that every resident of Beverly Hills deserves equal access to information about their local government and the ability to participate in our democratic process.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.

Our efforts include:

  • Providing text alternatives for non-text content
  • Ensuring sufficient color contrast throughout the site
  • Making all functionality available via keyboard navigation
  • Using clear, consistent navigation and page structure
  • Designing responsive layouts that work across devices and screen sizes
  • Using semantic HTML and ARIA labels where appropriate

Accessibility Features

This website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements can be accessed using a keyboard
  • Screen Reader Support: Pages are structured with proper headings, landmarks, and ARIA attributes
  • Alt Text: Images include descriptive alternative text
  • Resizable Text: Text can be resized without loss of content or functionality
  • Focus Indicators: Visible focus indicators are provided for keyboard users
  • Form Labels: All form fields have associated labels for screen readers

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some content may not yet fully meet all WCAG 2.1 AA criteria. We are actively working to identify and resolve any accessibility barriers. If you encounter any issues, please let us know so we can address them promptly.
